Free apprenticeships for eligible under 25s will cover the cost of training fees for employers who have commenced a new apprentice or trainee, or already have an existing apprentice or trainee aged under 25, in a priority qualification. Your employer will pay your wages, and you might have to meet costs related to any uniform or other training resources.
To be eligible for the Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Students will be able to be funded for a maximum two government funded Apprenticeships/Traineeships across the Career Start, Career Boost Programs and School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs).
Students can receive funding for only one apprenticeship or traineeship at a time. If two training contracts are registered at the same time, the contract with the earliest start date will qualify for funding, provided all other eligibility requirements are met.
This funding is subject to change. Please carefully consider your training options before committing to a training course, as this may exhaust your entitlement to further Queensland Government subsidised training. To be eligible for most Queensland Government subsidies, you must not be currently enrolled in another qualification. If you are found to be enrolled elsewhere, you may be asked to withdraw from the qualification before your subsidy can be approved for the qualification you have applied for.
CQUniversity is required to receive proof of your withdrawal before offering a subsidy. This evidence must come from your previous Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and can be provided in one of the following ways:
This confirmation must clearly state that you have been withdrawn from your previous qualification(s).
If you do not wish to be assessed for a subsidy you may choose to continue your application as a Fee for service student.
