CPC30220 - Certificate III in Carpentry

CQUniversity provides carpentry apprenticeship training in fully equipped training facilities. You will obtain your training from experienced trade teachers who will train you on how to construct wall frames, and use carpentry tools and equipment.

JOB PROSPECTS

Occupational outcome of Carpenter.

Provides carpentry apprentices with the skills and knowledge to work in the carpentry trade. Competencies include planning and organising work, constructing wall frames, using carpentry tools and equipment, carry out leveling operations and roof framing. Topics covered include occupational health and safety, reading and interpreting plans, measurements and calculations, shaping materials and assembling components with hand and power tools, setting out buildings and footings on-site using a variety of leveling devices such as lasers, constructing timber pitching roof frames, installing sub-floor framing, timber/sheet flooring and door frames. Elective choices may lead to specific occupations within the industry sector.

This is a nationally recognised accredited course.

Apprentices can be accepted throughout the year. Training dates are structured upon intake.
Work-integrated learning does not apply to this course.
This course has no residential schools.

This course is for apprenticeship training only. Students must be employed as apprentices in a relevant industry.

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.
