Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurship is a dedicated fee-free postgraduate qualification available under CQU's Graduate Guarantee. The Graduate Guarantee is an initiative to support you if you are unable to secure career-related employment within six months of graduation from any of our undergraduate degrees.
The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurship has been developed specifically to enhance your employability under our Graduate Guarantee. From 2022, if you successfully complete any of our undergraduate degrees and you are not able to secure part-time or full-time employment in a relevant field within six months, our Graduate Guarantee will support your continued learning at no cost.
The course will introduce you to key concepts in business leadership, entrepreneurship and social and business innovation. The units within the Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurship are drawn from our well-regarded MBA (Leadership) to offer you up-to-date and industry-relevant knowledge to complement your discipline. You'll study entirely online via our hyperflexible Be Different platform.
To apply to study the Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurship for free under the Graduate Guarantee you must:
- Have graduated from a CQUniversity undergraduate degree in 2022 or later
- Have been looking for employment in your discipline of study for a minimum of six months following your graduation
- Have not gained full or part-time employment in your discipline of study
- Maintain an up-to-date Portfolium / LinkedIn profile.
- Provide a statutory declaration that the above is true.
Application and course completion timelines
You will need to apply between six and 12 months after graduation.
You will have up to twelve months from accepting your offer to complete all four units of this course and study fee-free. If you need to take longer, any remaining units after twelve months can be purchased.

Career Opportunities
Graduates will be able to apply the knowledge and skills they learn in this course in disruption and entrepreneurship, human resources, marketing, and social and business innovation to their current work in organisational settings, or to new initiatives requiring an innovation mindset. Students will be able to articulate into the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Leadership) or MBA (Leadership) for further extension at higher levels of study.

Indicative First-Year Fee
The Indicative First-Year Fee is the approximate cost of enrolling in this course for one academic year for a Full Fee Paying (FFP) Place and should be used as a guide only. For a graduate certificate, this is usually four units studied full-time over one term or part-time over two terms. Your actual fees may vary depending on the units you select to study and your study load. Check the cost-per-unit spreadsheet available on our fees webpage for the approved unit fees. Fees are reviewed each year and are subject to change.
You may be eligible for FEE-HELP, an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay their tuition fees. Provided you meet the FEE-HELP eligibility criteria, you can choose to use FEE-HELP to cover all or part of your tuition fees.
