Higher Education Study

You are considered an applicant with higher education study if you have undertaken previous recognised higher education level study (such as an AQF Bachelor degree and higher). When applying for a university course, as part of the admissions process, you will be assigned a selection rank based on the level, duration and the Grade Point Average (GPA) of your prior study.

As an applicant with higher education study the way you apply will depend on your situation.

If you are a current or prior CQUniversity student, this means that you have successfully completed, or are completing, a prescribed CQUni course. This includes any of the following:

As a current or prior CQUni student, for most courses, you will need to apply directly to CQUniversity via our direct application portal.

If you are an existing CQUniversity student and you would like to change your course, find out how by visiting our change your course page.

If you are an existing CQUniversity student interested in applying for readmission, read more about what’s involved with readmission at CQUni. Please note, not all courses allow entry via readmission.

If you have completed prior higher education study with a provider other than CQUni, you can apply direct with no application cost via our ApplyCQUni portal. If you are seeking credit transfer for course units successfully undertaken at your current institution, you’ll need to submit a credit application form post accepting your offer.

Interested in studying a CQUniversity unit via cross-institutional study? Find out more about cross-institutional study and how to apply.

At CQUniversity we recognise several tertiary preparatory, bridging, enabling and foundation programs offered by higher education providers across Australia.

If you have completed a bridging or enabling course, contact us for more information about how your prior preparatory study may apply to your course of interest.

You are required to meet relevant subject pre-requisites for the course you are applying for. Subject pre-requisites can be satisfied by successful completion of Senior secondary subjects or equivalent.

Subject prerequisites are not generally able to be met through Certificate level study.

If your course of interest has additional entry requirements these must also be satisfied.

You can be assigned more than one selection rank, for study and experience you hold such as your Year 12 results, vocational education and training, higher education study and even your employment history. If you have been assigned more than one selection rank, you will generally be considered for admission based on the highest rank. Exceptions may apply to some courses and courses with additional entry requirements.
