Master of Medical Ultrasound - CV83
This course enables qualified sonographers and echocardiographers wishing to undertake study in advanced practice to complete a postgraduate qualification. This is a natural top-up qualification to the graduate diploma of medical sonography or graduate diploma of echocardiography. Areas of advanced clinical practice include units in advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound upper body, advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound lower body, advanced obstetric ultrasound, advanced vascular ultrasound, advanced paediatric ultrasound, advanced imaging of congenital heart disease and fetal echocardiography.

In the Master of Medical Ultrasound students will undertake units in advanced practice or specialisations of their choice. Areas of advanced practice include units in advanced communication, management, governance and research; whilst specialisation units include advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound upper body, advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound lower body, advanced obstetric ultrasound, advanced vascular ultrasound, advanced paediatric ultrasound, advanced imaging of congenital heart disease and fetal echocardiography. The advanced communication unit includes issues such as communication in the role as a clinical supervisor, difficult conversations and the skills of report writing. Research involves the presentation of a research report or project plan. Graduates will demonstrate leadership within the health care sector by being effective problem solvers and advanced practitioners. Theoretical content will be provided by flexible learning with opportunities in one unit to attend a practical workshop.
To be eligible applicants must possess a Graduate Diploma in Sonography or Echocardiography or equivalent. Applicants with no research units completed in their graduate diploma will need to complete one research unit option.

The Master of Medical Ultrasound (CV83) provides you with advanced skills and knowledge in sonography and echocardiography, enabling you to keep abreast of developments in your profession.
It is a top-up qualification building on the content covered in CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Medical Sonography / Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography and the Bachelor of Echocardiography and Cardiac Physiology / Graduate Diploma of Echocardiography.
YOUR STUDY OPTIONS
You will complete four core units from a choice of eleven units. You have the choice of studying units with a focus on research skills, technical skills, and management skills.
You will be required to study a Medical Science Research Project unit if you did not complete a research unit during your Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography or Graduate Diploma of Echocardiography as part of your undergraduate study with CQUniversity.
You will have a range of units that allow you to build your technical skills in:

|FEE-HELP and payment options||
FEE-HELP is the loan scheme provided the Australian Government to help eligible students pay their tuition fees through a loan.
Eligible students can use a FEE-HELP loan to pay for all, or some of their tuition fees. If you elect to use a FEE-HELP loan, this means that you will defer payment of your tuition fees and repay your FEE-HELP loan when your income is above the compulsory repayment threshold (the 2018-2019 income year threshold is $51,957 or above).
You must meet specific eligibility requirements to be able to use FEE-HELP assistance.
If you are not eligible for a FEE-HELP loan, or you are required to pay your tuition fees upfront, you will need to pay your fees no later than the census date for the term in which you are studying.
