The Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2020 recognise universities across the world for their social and economic impact based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CQUniversity is ranked 76th for our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 16 ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’, as well as notable scores in the six other SDG categories we participated in. Overall, our commitment to sustainability sees us ranked in the top 200 universities participating in these prestigious rankings.

Our commitment to engagement and social outreach has led to CQUniversity being recognised as Australia's first and only Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U, an exclusive global social innovation group, made up of around 40 other respected education institutions across the world. All member institutions collaborate with each other to break down barriers to institutional change and foster a campus‑wide culture of social innovation.

The Good Universities Guide provides independent performance ratings for every university in Australia, and in 2020 has awarded CQUniversity five-star ratings in five categories, including social equity and first-generation student ratio. These results highlight our commitment to providing quality education to everyone, and has seen us ranked #1 in Australia for social equity, and #2 in the country for first-generation student ratio.

We’ve been recognised by The Good Universities Guide 2020 as one of the top ten Australian universities for undergraduate student support, and we're proud to also receive a five-star rating in this category.

CQUniversity students rate the support they receive highly, with ComparED data showing our undergraduate and postgraduate results are above national averages. This includes the support available to students around enrolment, study advice, health services and career guidance. ComparED results also show the majority of CQUni students positively rate our teaching quality, facilities and learning resources, and overall student experience.

Survey results from The National Centre for Vocational Education Research show 94 per cent of CQUni TAFE graduates secure employment or enrol in further study. Of those in employment after graduating, 92 per cent said their training helped them secure at least one job-related benefit. Our practical training also sees nine in ten CQUni TAFE students recommend the training they completed.

CQUniversity continues to be recognised by The Good Universities Guide 2020 as one of the top five universities in Australia for full-time employment and starting salary for undergraduate alumni. Our excellent graduate outcomes have seen us receive five-star ratings in these categories year-on-year.

Current ComparED results show more CQUniversity graduates (79.5 per cent) secure full-time employment within four months of graduating than the national average (72.3 per cent), and these undergraduate alumni earn above the national average for starting salaries ($66 000 vs $61 000).

The QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 ranks CQUniversity as one of the top 500 universities globally. With more than 28 000 universities globally, this places us among the top two per cent for graduate employability. These rankings are based on graduate employment rates, employer-student connections, university-employer partnerships, alumni outcomes and a university's reputation among employers.

ComparED data shows CQUniversity postgraduate alumni experience positive career outcomes, earning 17 per cent more than the national average, with median salaries for full-time employees at $97 300 (national average $83 500) within four months of graduating. CQUniversity helps equip postgraduate students with the skills to advance their careers, with 84 per cent of students rating their skills development positively, compared to the national average of 80.9 per cent.

The Good Universities Guide 2020 has awarded CQUniversity five-star ratings for postgraduate starting salary and skills development. In addition to this, CQUni has been identified as ranking second in Australia for postgraduate starting salaries. We're also proud to receive five-star ratings in subject-specific categories, including engineering, health services and support, and computing and information systems.

At CQUniversity our focus on practical, applied research sees us being recognised as conducting research that is at, above or well above world standard in an impressive 22 categories in the latest Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) results, published by the Australian Research Council.

CQUniversity is committed to providing a welcoming and supportive experience to all students. In the recent International Student Barometer (ISB) results, 94 per cent of international students reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their arrival experience. We are pleased to also achieve 90 per cent or higher for our support services, learning experiences and living experiences.

In the latest English Language Barometer (ELB) results, CQUniversity is ranked first of over 30 other English language centres throughout Australia for making students feel welcome. In addition to this, we placed in the top ten for learning, living, support and arrival categories.
