Overview

CQUniversity's Master of Construction Management prepares you to meet the current and future challenges of the building industry.

This course is ideal if you are looking to build your construction management credentials for a career as a Construction Manager and you hold a three-year bachelor degree in areas related to construction such as architecture, building, construction management, engineering or project management. 

Construction Managers plan and organise, and control activities relating to high and low-rise buildings including residential, commercial and government projects. In this course, you will learn about the process of building construction from land planning and building legislation, procurement, risk management, contract administration, and the use of building information modelling (BIM) as it applies to construction.

As a construction manager, you will apply project management principles throughout the construction project cycle to meet key project performance objectives including time, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability ensuring successful project delivery. You will have the opportunity to gain crucial lifelong learning and transferable generic skills, such as critical thinking and problem-solving. 

In your final year, you will choose one of the following Streams:

  • Research Stream

Additional Information

Project Management Internship - PPMP20017

To be eligible, students need to apply for an internship, pass all units on the first try, and complete all other units in their study plan prior to undertaking an internship. There is a minimum GPA requirement of 5.75. Students will undergo a series of interviews with providers and potential internship host organisations before being placed with a host. They will spend 10 consecutive weeks with the internship host organisation, applying the knowledge gained over the course of study. 4 days a week for total 10 weeks. It applies 9.00am to 05.00pm working hours for a day working; therefore, 7.25 hours per day and 29 hours per week for total 10 weeks.

If you have completed prior study relevant to units within this course, you may be eligible for credit for your past studies.

Indicative First-Year Fee

The Indicative First-Year Fee for a Full Fee Paying (FFP) Place is the approximate cost of enrolling in this course for one full-time academic year (this is usually eight units studied over two terms) and should be used as a guide only. Your actual fees may vary depending on the units you select to study and your study load. Check the Cost per Unit spreadsheet available on our Understanding Course Fees webpage

You may be eligible for FEE-HELP, an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay their tuition fees. Provided you meet the FEE-HELP eligibility criteria, you can choose to use FEE-HELP to cover all or part of your tuition fees.
