The Graduate Certificate in Emergency and Health Services Management will provide you with contemporary knowledge and skills to enable health care managers to excel in Australia’s complex and dynamic health care environment.
This course examines contemporary management of people and organisations, including effective human resource management in an increasingly dynamic and global environment. You will examine the emotional intelligence model that will allow you to identify the key competencies required of managers to effectively work with and through others. In this course, you will explore local and global concepts of emergency and disaster management and the frameworks that underpin effective management of emergency events. Drawing on your experience, you will explore the concept of leadership, particularly how leadership styles impact an emergency and disaster management environment. Through the exploration of global health issues, you will explore the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as they relate to global public health and examine a range of public health issues including communicable disease, climate change, gender equity and food security, preparing you to take on lead roles in health care projects and interventions.
