This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. Possible job titles include a bar attendant, café attendant, catering assistant, food and beverage attendant, front office assistant, porter, room attendant.

Learn basic skills and knowledge in a range of activities and functions required in hospitality. Work would be undertaken in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. This program can be completed as part of a traineeship. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks using practical skills and basic industry knowledge. They work under direct supervision.

This is a nationally recognised accredited course.

You will be required to supply your own polo shirt and enclosed footwear (black school shoes are suitable) for this course.

Practical skills must be demonstrated in an operational food and beverage outlet or simulated environment such as a pubs, clubs cafes or restaurants.Students not currently working in the industry, or who do not have access to workplace simulated environments will need to discuss this with the teaching team.

This course has no residential schools.

Completion of the BKSB (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

There are no other entry requirements for this qualification.
