The CQUniversity Engineering Showcase is the premier biannual conference celebrating the exceptional talent and achievements of our engineering students across Australia.
Established in 2002, the Showcase provides a vital platform for students to present their innovative, industry-focused projects to prospective employers, industry professionals, fellow students, and the wider community. It serves as a direct, powerful link between emerging engineering talent and the industry leaders who are shaping the future.
Our Engineering Showcase events are held twice a year across multiple campuses (Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne and Rockhampton), with attendance available in-person or online via Zoom:
The Showcase has expanded its scope to feature high-quality projects from students at every level of our engineering courses.
Graduating Undergraduates
Presentations of Honours Thesis or Technologist Project Reports, often solving real-world challenges with industry partners.
First-Year Students
Team-based presentations detailing outcomes from industry induction projects, demonstrating early application of engineering principles.
Second-Year Students
Presentations on significant Creative Engineering Projects, demonstrating practical design and problem-solving skills in a team environment.
Postgraduate Students
Focused research presentations detailing advanced studies and contributions to the engineering field.
Participation in the Engineering Showcase is an essential component of a core unit’s learning outcome.

We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our sponsors. If you would like to partner with us on future events, please email SETOperations@cqu.edu.au for more information.
We encourage our students to experience different cultures and as an undergraduate engineering student, you have the opportunity to travel to a developing or marginalised community in the Asia-Pacific region as part of a two-week international mobility tour.
By participating in the Engineers without Borders Humanitarian Design Summit, you will have the opportunity to live with your adopted community to identify wants, needs, strengths, and opportunities for social innovation. You will hold collaborative discussions and through applying principles of human-centred design, sustainable development, and rapid prototyping, you will empower communities to build capacities and strengthen their capabilities.
Experiencing new cultures and applying engineering skills and knowledge in challenging international contexts, is an enriching adventure which equally advances your confidence, experience, and employability.
