Study online anywhere, anytime, or gain hands-on experience in a studio setting at select CQUniversity campuses.

You’ll learn directly from experienced industry professionals about on-set protocols, costume and wardrobe assistance, and data wrangling for film production.

Whether you’re new to the industry or looking for a foot in the door, these short courses are your first step towards an entry-level role in screen production.

On completion of each micro-credential, you’ll earn a CQUniversity digital badge – perfect for showcasing on your CV, portfolio, or social media profile.

These micro-credentials have been developed in partnership with Screen Queensland and Harvest Pictures Group, and are proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government.

What you could be learning

These two micro-credentials will teach you key on-set protocols that you need to understand as a member of a film crew. 

You will learn about the film production process; roles and departments; health and safety protocols; set etiquette and conduct; effective communication; chain of command; on-set movement and zones; punctuality and scheduling; confidentiality and integrity; collaboration and teamwork; cultural sensitivity and inclusion; and role-specific guidelines.

These two micro-credentials will prepare you for the role of wardrobe assistant on a film set. 

You will learn how to work closely with a costume designer; maintain costumes; manage wardrobe inventory; assist with fittings; source wardrobe pieces; coordinate costume changes; maintain costume continuity; track wardrobe expenses; and communicate effectively.

These two micro-credentials will prepare you for the role of data wrangler on a film set. 

You will learn how to manage data files from cameras and sound recorders; transfer and backup files securely; check file integrity; manage metadata; convert files into multiple formats; collaborate effectively; maintain equipment; prepare data-handling logs; and troubleshoot technical issues.
