CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund Grants

The CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund provides small financial assistance grants (up to A$1,000) for University alumni to participate in initiatives, events, training and projects that support the community. Funding is only awarded where there is a clear community benefit from the recipient’s activity.

Grants are only awarded when there are sufficient funds accrued. The CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund is supported by donations from individuals and organisations, including alumni, employees, businesses, charitable trusts and foundations and community organisations. Who can apply for a CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund Grant? 

You’re eligible if you’ve graduated from CQUniversity with a vocational or higher education qualification.

How to apply

  1. Read the CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund Procedure.
  2. Complete the CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund Grant Application Form
  3. Email your application (including supporting documentation) to alumni-enquiries@cqu.edu.au.

A few weeks after you become eligible to graduate, your student access to the CQUniversity library and e-databases will expire. However, you can apply for alumni access to stay current with new research and publications in your field.

Electronic database (E-Database) access

Alumni can access a select range of databases. The Databases for Alumni page lists what's currently available and links to open-access resources.

New Users

Complete the Alumni E-Database Access Application Form the first time you want to use these resources. Access is granted within three business days, and you'll receive a confirmation email.

Existing Users

Please note: due to changing vendor license conditions, the range of databases available to CQUniversity alumni may change. Please refer to the Databases for Alumni page regularly for the latest information.

Library access

Alumni can apply for a free annual membership to CQUniversity's libraries. Visit a library on any of our campuses where the library is publicly available to apply for a borrowing card. Physical loans must be borrowed in person.

University networks

Build connections with fellow graduates in your area or discipline and access professional development, networking and social activities as part of an alumni network. Visit our Networks page for more information.

Graduates in China

Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA)

Chinese citizens and China-based alumni can join the Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA), an overarching program for all graduates with connections to China. Membership is free and is a great opportunity for you to attend events, mentor (or be mentored), meet other graduates of Australian universities, hear about job vacancies and more. We encourage you to take advantage of the range of benefits on offer and join ACAA.

Australia China Alumni Awards

The prestigious Australia China Alumni Awards recognise outstanding achievements from Australian university graduates living in China. If you’d like to be considered for the Awards, ensure your location and employment details are up to date.

Lifelong email account

CQUni Mail is the University’s Google-powered email system. Recent graduates keep their CQUni Mail address after graduation. If you graduated before CQUni Mail was introduced and would like an @cqumail.com address, please contact us.

Communications and events

Alumni receive free updates with the latest news, initiatives and opportunities. Event invitations are based on your location recorded on your record in the alumni database. Please update your contact and employment details to ensure you hear the news that's most relevant to you.

Moodle and ePortfolio access

  • Moodle: course notes and subject outlines are available for up to two years after the unit is delivered (subject to archiving).
  • Portfolium (ePortfolio): all CQUniversity graduates have access to the ePortfolio tool Portfolium after conferral to help showcase academic work, achievements and graduate attributes. This career support tool complements a traditional resume by highlighting skills and capabilities.

Access Moodle and Portfolium via the student portal using your existing CQU username and Password.

Bookshop discounts

CQUni Alumni receive free shipping (within Australia) on Bookshop orders over $25. Apply the discount.

Creative and Performing Arts discounts – Mackay

The School of Education and The Arts, incorporating the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, encourages all CQUniversity Alumni to become a "Friend of the Conservatorium" to access advance bookings and special concession rates to a variety of concerts, master-classes and exhibitions presented by the School. Your support will benefit the next generation of performers studying at the Conservatorium.

Gym membership – Rockhampton

Rockhampton-based graduates can achieve a more active, healthy and relaxed lifestyle by joining the CQU gym, located on the North Rockhampton campus. The Centre’s facilities include an indoor and outdoor gym, heated pool, a large variety of classes, free tennis court hire and an athletics oval.
