The Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management will develop your managerial skills and provide you with a sound knowledge of industry operations to enable you to coordinate travel or tourism operations.

This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of tourism or travel skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel or tourism operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others, and make a range of operational business decisions.

This course has no residential schools.

Students will need to be working in a suitable tourism, events or hospitality business, as a paid employee or volunteer, in a customer focused and supervisory role, with access to organisational policies and procedures, can work independently and participate in operational decision making. 

• There are no minimum required hours as these are competency-based assessment tasks.

• The supervisor who signs the forms (we will supply the forms) must have relevant qualifications or experience for the unit they are signing off.

          - Evidence of this is to be supplied to CQU for audit purposes.

          - The Supervisor will be contacted to verify these forms

Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, CQUniversity requires completion of bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher-level course.

There is a requirement to complete practical workplace assessments in a suitable industry environment.

Access to a computer, Internet and intermediate computer skills. 24-hour CQUniversity computer labs are available on selected campuses.

Fee for Service/ Full Fee

Fee for Service/Full Fee occurs when the full tuition fee is charged to students. This may occur when the course is not included in government subsidy program/s or the student is not eligible for a government subsidy. These students are obligated to cover the entire cost. Co-Contribution and Co-Contribution Concessional Fee

Some government subsidies, such as Higher Level Skills (HLS), will require the individual to contribute to the cost of their training through a co-contribution fee. Government subsidies are subject to eligibility.

The fee will vary based on the course chosen and the eligibility of the student for a concession rate. The co-contribution fee represents the total cost to the student for tuition. There are other costs that the student may have to pay, including but not limited to uniforms and course resources. This will vary depending on the training. This course is part of the Queensland Government's TAFE Priority Skills Fund. Eligibility and conditions apply. Eligible students need to be enrolled and participate in study prior to the end of June 2024 to access TAFE Priority Skills Fund.

This course is included in the Australian Government’s VET Student Loan (VSL) program, assisting eligible students pay tuition fees. Refer to the VET Student Loan webpage for more information, eligibility and census date calendar. A VET student loan gives rise to a VETSL debt that continues to be a debt due to the Commonwealth until it is repaid.
