After completion of this course individuals can be employed as Beauty Therapists to provide treatments such as facial treatments, body massage, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, nail and make-up services. This includes consultation with clients to provide beauty advice, recommend beauty treatments and services, and sell retail skin-care and cosmetic products. A beauty therapist must be able to create and build a client base, encourage repeat custom through consistent re-booking of clients and provide knowledgeable advice in regards to products and services.
This qualification is for someone who is highly motivated, can work independently, and deliver a range of high quality treatments in diverse settings. The role of a beauty therapists is to provide a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services including facial treatments, body massage and treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, nail and make-up services. This includes consultation with clients to provide beauty advice, recommend beauty treatments and services, and sell retail skin-care and cosmetic products.
Their work involves the self-directed application of knowledge and skills with substantial depth in some areas where judgement and initiative is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques. A beauty therapist must be able to create and build a client base, encourage repeat custom through consistent re-booking of clients and provide knowledgeable advice in regards to products and services.
Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and spas.
This is a nationally recognised accredited course.

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or high level course.
There are no other entry requirements for this course as listed by the training package.
A previous qualification in either Certificate III in Beauty Services or Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy will reduce the workload to upgrade to the Diploma of Beauty Therapy qualification.
