Individuals with this qualification carry out routine tasks under supervision where the work is predictable and structured with limited judgement requirements. The qualification is suited to VET programs delivered to secondary school students or learners with no previous connection to the horticulture industry or relevant employment history.

The Certificate II is a mixed mode program to be generally completed over 18 months part time. It is possible for students to complete before the nominated time frame if they have reached the required skill level. During this time, students are expected to progress via self-paced study, guided by the trainer and supported by online learning materials. Students must attend the weekly on-campus face to face sessions to complete their practical components.

This course has no residential schools.

Requirements

Start TAFE Now (STN) students must be aged 15 years or older and be in Year 11, to be admitted into this course. Due to the duration of this qualification, this course is not suitable for Year 12 students.

Students are required to have completed the literacy and numeracy assessment pre-enrolment in the form of the Basic Key Skills Builder (bksb) online literacy, numeracy and digital literacy assessment or to have completed an equal or higher level course.

There are no other entry requirements for this qualification.
