The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at CQUniversity is a four-year course designed to develop your skills and enable you to practise as a Physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession concerned with human function and movement. Physiotherapists use a range of methods in their work including exercise, manual techniques, education and advice.
You will develop the skills to become confident in assessing, treating and managing a range of conditions for people of all ages. In addition, your education and training will focus on ways to prevent injuries and promote health and well being- skills that are highly valued within the industry.
The course includes a large practical component through both university-based units and clinical education placements in a range of settings. This allows you to put your learning into practice, gain real-life work experience and graduate work-ready.

On successful completion, you will be eligible for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, qualifying you to practise as a physiotherapist in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, community health centres, private practice, schools and with sporting teams.
You will be prepared for a wide scope of physiotherapy roles from working with patients with cardiorespiratory, or neurological concerns to those with musculoskeletal concerns.

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) involves extensive professional practice experiences where you will gain practical and relevant experience and opportunities to apply your discipline knowledge and skills to real clients. During your third and fourth year of study, you will complete five clinical placements, each of five weeks duration.
While every endeavour is made for your professional practice experiences to be close to home, you may be required to travel to another location to complete your professional practice and this will be at your own expense.

COVID-19 Vaccination RequirementThe COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory to be eligible to attend a WIL placement for this course. Students will be required to provide evidence of having completed a COVID-19 vaccination schedule by the closing date prior to a WIL placement. The vaccine received must be a vaccine approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America, you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.
Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion within the last 5 years of:
- A secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
- Bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA of 4.0
completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United states of America, which will meet the English proficiency.
If you do not satisfy any of the above, you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores:
- An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 7.0 with a minimum 7.0 in each subset; or
- An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components; or
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBt - 94 or better overall and no score less than 24 for listening and reading, 27 for writing, and 23 for speaking; or
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Requires an overall score of 65 with no sub-score less than 65.
English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study and must appear on a single result certificate.

Security RequirementsAs a part of this course, students will undertake clinical placements. To participate in clinical placements, students require the following: - CQUniversity Student Declaration - Queensland Health Student Deed Poll - Working with Children Card - Criminal Police Check Additional checks and documentation may also be required, depending on the type of placement site as different organisations / placement sites.
Health RequirementsAs a part of this course, students will undertake clinical placements. To participate in clinical placements students require the following vaccinations: - Hepatitis B - Measles, Mumps and Rubella - DTpa (Whooping Cough) - Varicella (Chicken Pox) - Tuberculosis Screening Additional vaccinations may also be required. This will depend on the type of placement site and the site location, as different states have different vaccinations regulations and requirements. Students are also required to hold a current First Aid / CPR certificate.

|HECS-HELP and payment options||
HECS-HELP is the loan scheme provided the Australian Government to help eligible Commonwealth supported students pay their student contributions through a loan. Eligible students can use a HECS-HELP loan to pay for all or some of their Student Contribution amount. If you elect to use a HECS-HELP loan, this means that you will defer payment of your Student Contribution amount and repay your HECS-HELP loan when your income is above the compulsory repayment threshold.
If you are not eligible for a HECS-HELP loan, or you are required to pay your Student Contribution upfront, you will need to pay your fees no later than the census date for the term in which you are studying.
