The CQUniCares Study Resource Equity Bursary supports students from underrepresented backgrounds with costs associated with their studies. These expenses may include living expenses and essential non-deferrable study related costs such as learning materials, technology, internet, course-specific equipment or travel costs associated with residential schools or unpaid work placements.
To be eligible to receive the CQUniCares Study Resource Equity Bursary successful applicants must:
- Meet one of the following:
- Be identified as from a low socio-economic background (SES) enrolled in an undergraduate course* with CQUniversity.
- Be a First Nations student enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course* with CQUniversity.
- Be a First Nations student, from a low socio-economic background (SES) enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course* with CQUniversity.
- Be studying a minimum term study load of 6 credit points or more at Census date of Term 1, 2026.
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, holder of a Humanitarian Visa or New Zealand Citizen with a permanent home address in Australia.
- Not currently in receipt of a CQUniversity Donor-Funded Scholarship.
Eligible applicants who remain enrolled at Census date of Term 2, 2026 may be eligible for a Term 2, 2026 bursary payment, subject to funding availability.

Students will be notified of the outcome of their application via their student email account only. Decisions are final.
Successful applicants are required to enter their current banking details into their MyCQU (refer to instructions) to enable payment to be made.
- Successful applicants who receive their bursary outcome prior to the Census date, will receive payment by week 6 of term following post Census date eligibility assessment.
- Successful applicants who receive their bursary outcome after Census date, will receive payment within 2 weeks of outcome notification.
All payments will be made via electronic funds transfer to the successful applicant’s nominated bank account. Early payment requests will not be considered.
As a bursary recipient, you will be invited to participate in a feedback survey. You may also be asked to support the promotion of the CQUniversity scholarships program by sharing your experiences as a recipient through media opportunities or by invitation to attend events such as Orientation or Open Day.
