We understand our students lead busy lives, juggling work and study commitments, as well as family and personal ventures, and occasionally you need academic assistance after business hours. That’s why CQUniversity has introduced after-hours academic assistance with the Studiosity (previously YourTutor) service.

Studiosity is personalised, online help from an exclusively trained network of tutors, available free for all CQUni students. Studiosity gives you access to academic support when you don’t have access to your lecturer or on-campus academic assistance.

The service is available from Moodle

How does the service work

You can choose to drop off a file 24/7 and collect constructive general academic literacy feedback on structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling and referencing within 24 hours.

Alternatively, the online tutors are available from 5 pm – midnight, Sunday to Friday. Connect in real-time to expert tutors, waiting online to help you get ‘unstuck’. Studiosity provides one-to-one chat, covering subjects like Essay Writing, Study Skills, Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry/Biology Accounting, Statistics, Micro/Macroeconomics and more.

Holiday hours

As 2018 comes to an end for many students, the opening hours of our Connect Live service will be changing, starting from 1st December.

Our Connect Live service is closed from December 15 to January 6.

Between December 1 and December 14, and from January 7 to January 31

  • Connect Live for Maths, English and Study Coach from 7 pm to 11 pm AEDT (8 am - 12 pm GMT), Sunday to Friday.
  • Connect Live for Statistics, Accounting, Economics, Commerce and Science Subjects from 7 pm to 9 pm AEDT (8 am - 10 am GMT), Sunday to Thursday

Also, if you're studying over the break, don't worry - the Writing Feedback service will remain open 24/7, as always.

All services will resume as normal on 1 February 2019.

How does this fit with the ALC?

CQUniversity has adopted Studiosity in addition to the advice provided by the Academic Learning Centre (ALC). The ALC will remain available from 8 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday (or by appointment)

The ALC provides information, advice and resources related to the academic communication (e.g. writing, note-taking and referencing), mathematics, science, and computing requirements needed to study at CQUniversity. The ALC offers personalised consultations with an advisor on campus or online by phone, Zoom, or via an online submission service. The ALC also offers generic group sessions, course-specific workshops, drop-in centres, print and online resources.
