CQUniversity celebrates NAIDOC week with launch of student journey video

CQUniversity officially launched the video - Walking in our Ancestor's Footprints - as part of NAIDOC celebrations this week (4-11 July 2021).

Created by Indigenous production company Desert Pea Media' made thanks to funding by the Federal Government's Indigenous Student Success Program and approved by the First Nations Student Success Committee' the video follows five Indigenous participants - from prospective students to CQUniversity graduates and mentors - and tells the stories about their journeys to higher education and beyond.

Each individual featured in the video has their own unique and interesting story to share:

Walking in our Ancestor's Footprints is also an acknowledgement of our Indigenous Student Engagement team who connect with students to ensure they succeed in their studies' while also creating opportunities for graduates to remain engaged with their university and inspire others through tutoring and mentorship.

This NAIDOC CQUni honours the students' their families and communities that have kept them strong to study. Walking in our Ancestor's Footprints celebrates some of our students journey while promoting the motto of the Indigenous Student Engagement Team of 'Moving Forward With You'.
