Identify risk earlier in the business process life cycle, says peak body rep
Risk issues should be identified as early as possible in the business process life cycle, according to a peak body representative visiting CQUniversity Melbourne recently.
Blake Miles, the Business Process Manager at the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) also called on students to become 'change champions' to enable new mindsets and behaviours.
Mr Miles addressed a guest lecture for Melbourne-based Business Process Management students.
Senior Lecturer Ritesh Chugh, who organised the lecture, said that Mr Miles worked on and later managed the design and implementation of standardised, consistent, national processes in AHPRA (an entity established from 38 predecessor organisations in 2010).
"The students benefitted from hearing an industry practitioner outline the risk and change management approaches adopted in Information System implementation projects," Mr Chugh says.
"The talk also highlighted the need for optimisation of business processes through business model transformation initiatives.
"The session was enjoyed by the students who appreciated this industry engagement initiative and were able to learn from real-life experiences."
