More than 120 graduates crossed the stage at the 10th annual CQUniversity Townsville graduation ceremony today.

CQU’s latest North Queensland graduates represented a diverse field of disciplines including nursing, education, psychology, community services, paramedic science, management, accounting and law to name a few.

The ceremony also saw the biggest cohort of Indigenous graduates receive their testamurs.

Townsville Enterprise CEO Caludia Brumme-Smith was guest speaker at the event, while Bachelor of Psychological Science graduate Katlyn Stahre gave the graduate response.

“This graduation marks a new chapter in our journey – after all of our hard work, a plethora of options and opportunities lay in front of us,” Ms Stahre said.

“From the first day our lives crossed paths with CQU, we were assisted to become what we wanted to be,” she said.

CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Nick Klomp said he was proud to see so many new graduates ready to enter the workforce in North Queensland.

“For 10 years we’ve had graduates crossing the sage here in Townsville,” Professor Klomp said.

“That’s a significant influence CQUniversity has had on the local community and the local workforce,” he said.

“We recognise our role in that space and we’re really proud to accept that responsibility.”
