CQUniversity is ranked as one of the top 600 universities globally in the subject area of Business and Economics. Making the 501–600 reaffirms the popularity and value of the University’s accounting, business, economics, finance and management-related courses, some of which come with unique internship opportunities developed to provide international students with relevant work experience during their studies and maximise their workforce readiness.

This indicator encompasses more than academic strength, focusing on 'work-readiness'. CQUniversity’s courses are designed alongside industry and embed practical work integrated learning such as internships. Our career services are some of the best in a university setting, with careers focused services including CQUni Career Connection, CQUni Careers and CareerHub to help prospective and current students and graduates of the University in their job searching and career development.
This indicator looks at university infrastructure such as sporting, IT, library, medical facilities and student societies. CQUniversity continues to invest millions in capital works to create the best possible teaching and learning experience for students and staff. Our campuses feature fully equipped libraries and computer labs, allied health clinic and other clinical learning labs, aviation and engineering precincts, multi-faith centre as well as student accommodation. Our social spaces span student lounges for recreational activity, swimming pool, tennis court and gyms.
This indicator looks at the proportion of international students and staff, the numbers of exchange students, student nationalities, international partnerships and religious facilities. CQUniversity's global outlook and diversity grow from strength to strength. We are the preferred education provider for students from over 85 countries. We commit to world-class global mobility programs, overseas placements and international partnerships. We have representative offices offshore in India and Indonesia. This indicator determines teaching quality from student feedback in national student surveys as well as through further study rate and student faculty ratio. Our small class sizes and excellent student feedback have contributed to our five-star rating. Our positive student satisfaction levels are a testament to the commitment and high calibre of staff. Many teachers are also practitioners and active researchers – they innovate and incorporate their practice and research into classroom teaching and across the wider university and beyond.

The Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2018–19 results show CQUniversity is conducting research rated as at, above, and well above world standard across 22 various research categories.
The ERA initiative is developed and managed by the Australian Research Council (ARC) as a major funder of public sector research. It assesses research quality within Australia's higher education institutions using a combination of indicators and expert review by committees comprising experienced and internationally recognised experts.

The Times Higher Education (THE) 2022 Impact Rankings were released recently, assessing universities across the world against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
CQUniversity performed incredibly well, ranking 83rd out of more than 1,400 institutions worldwide, a jump from being placed in the top 200 in 2021.

Voted into the 8th position by the Australian Financial Review BOSS Magazine's MBA Rankings, our MBA is one of only two MBAs offered by Australian universities to have 100% of teachers with PhD qualifications and teachers with current business experience.

CQUniversity’s MBA has been further cemented as one of the best in the world after remaining in Tier One of CEO Magazine’s Global MBA Rankings and moving to a higher position in the top 50 worldwide for Global Online MBAs.
These rankings are designed with applicants in mind and are based upon key performance indicators that are of interest and value to students including quality of faculty, international diversity, class size, accreditation, faculty to student ratio, price, international exposure, work experience, professional development, gender parity and delivery methods.
CQUniversity’s CQUEnglish took part in the 2019–2020 English Language Barometer and gained an overall satisfaction average of 89.8% within a group of 52 English language centres throughout Australia.
A pleasant highlight for CQUEnglish is the first-place ranking across all our language centres for making students feel supported and a second-place ranking for value for money – 94.5% compared to the national average of 82.7%.
