New scholarship set to help students experience regional Australia

New and prospective students who plan on studying at CQUniversity this year are encouraged to apply now for a Destination Australia scholarship, valued at $15 000 per year of study.

New and prospective students seeking a regional or rural study experience while at CQUniversity this year are now eligible to apply for a new Federal Government-funded Destination Australia scholarship, valued at $15 000 per year of study.

The scholarships are available to full-time, on-campus Australian students who are considering, or currently in their first year of a Diploma of Nursing, Bachelor of Aviation (Flight Operations), Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, Graduate Certificate in Research or PhD studies at CQUniversity Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Mackay, or Rockhampton.

CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Nick Klomp said that students didn’t need to be from a regional area, they just needed to be planning on studying at a regional CQUniversity campus.

“Our regional campuses don’t only offer great quality education, they also offer the companionship of close-knit communities, plus opportunities to explore iconic natural wonders, all with a lower cost of living,” Prof Klomp said.

Across Australia, the Federal Government is offering 1180 scholarships worth $19.5 million, supporting students to study at a regional university or vocational education provider.
