Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety student Hilton Hines believes his CQUni degree will give him an edge in the OHS industry.
Perth local Hilton Hines says he’s ‘just your average guy’, but his career dreams are far from average.
The 19-year-old Perth student has embarked on a learning journey with CQUniversity which will see him work in his chosen field of Occupational Health and Safety armed with the confidence he’s been well prepared for the industry.
Hilton has just completed his first term of a Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety degree with CQUniversity Perth and believes he is a step closer to working as an OHS advisor.
“I chose to study with CQUni as it was one of only two universities in WA that offered the bachelor degree,” explained Hilton.
“I felt CQUni provided me with the best opportunities as the course has a focus on real-world applications of the theories we will be learning.
“In fact, work experience is actually built into the course itself.”
Hilton hopes to use his experience and qualification to work for one of the big companies in the mining sector where there is high risk.
“I believe learning how to mitigate the risks associated with mining would be extremely beneficial to my development as an OHS advisor.”
As a Perth local, CQUniversity’s vibrant, inner-city campus is very convenient and provides a wide range of amenities for its students.
“I can easily get to campus via a short train journey and being in the city is convenient. If I have any business in the city, I can kill two birds with one stone.”
Located a few minutes away from Perth Underground Station and Elizabeth Quay station, CQUniversity Perth is a modern campus offering great facilities for students studying preparatory, bachelor and postgraduate degrees.
CQUniversity offers a range of courses on campus in Perth including accident forensics, business, professional communication, echocardiography, engineering, occupational health and safety, medical sonography and project management. There are also extensive online options across a wide range of disciplines.
