CQUni Mackay 2017 graduate and Mastermyne scholarship recipient Megan Brunker is a local success story.

After completing a Bachelor of Business last year, she was offered a fulltime Human Resources role with the company.

“Through this scholarship, I enjoyed two days a week of work experience with Mastermyne last year and it was a fantastic networking and learning opportunity,” Megan said.

“Excitingly, I accepted a permanent position in January.

“I’m enjoying every aspect of the job. It’s great to be able to reflect on what I studied at uni and be able to put it all into practice.

“Every situation is a learning opportunity and I’m making the most of every moment of it; I’m so grateful to have had this incredible experience.

“My next opportunity with Mastermyne is to help select this year’s scholarship recipient; I’m very excited to be involved in providing another student with the fantastic opportunity that I’ve enjoyed.”

CQUni Mackay School of Business and Law Lecturer Maree Franettovich said she was exceedingly proud of Megan’s achievements, persistence and ‘can-do’ attitude.

“Megan’s success clearly demonstrates that harnessing every opportunity presented to you at CQUniversity can open doors to early employment,” she said.

CQUniversity’s Engineering (Mechanical), Business (HR), Law, or Accounting/Finance students have less than one week to apply for a prestigious CQUniCares Mastermyne Group Scholarship.

Valued at $8000 (over two years), this scholarship is one of more than $250 000 worth of scholarships that have assisted CQUni Mackay students over the past two years.

The CQUniCares Mastermyne Scholarship is unique in that it also offers the successful recipient up to two years of paid work experience with the organisation.

Founded 20 years ago in Mackay, Mastermyne Group is a leading national provider of contract services to the mining sector.
