CQUni to kick-off annual appeal with matched-giving target
Published:15 October 2018
CQUniversity launched its annual CQUniCares fundraising appeal on Monday, 15 October with a matched-giving target thanks to the Scott Williams Foundation.
The Foundation generously committed to match all donations made during the 2018 CQUniCares Annual Appeal, up to the total value of $50,000.
CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman expressed his gratitude for the Scott Williams Foundation’s matched-giving commitment.
“As Australia’s largest regional university with the highest ratio of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, many of our students continue to identify financial stress as one of the top reasons stopping them from completing their qualification.” Prof Bowman said.
“Incredibly generous donations such as these will not only allow our students to complete their qualification and reach their full potential, but also make enormous impacts within our communities.”
This year’s 25-day appeal target is to raise $200,000 - enough funds to support 50 students through scholarships and emergency grants.
“A donation, no matter how big or small, makes a huge difference,” Prof Bowman said.
“Donating to the Appeal will show students from disadvantaged backgrounds that their education and success is both valued and important.
“Please give generously – your donation will change lives.”
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and every cent raised will directly benefit students in need.
