Makayla 'a perfect fit' for Mackay beauty salon

Makayla King’s Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy has taught her there’s no such thing as ‘nothing to do in the workplace’.

This hardworking attitude – and that of Makayla’s fellow CQUni Beauty students – has not only caught Mackay salon owner/operator Zoe Whiteford’s attention; it apparently also made them ‘a perfect fit’ for her Victoria Street business.

Makayla is now a trainee in Zoe’s Just Perfect Beauty salon, alongside fully qualified CQUni success stories Teneal Sinnott (a Diploma of Beauty Therapy graduate) and Hannah Legood (Certificate IV Beauty Therapy).

“There’s always something to be done in a beauty salon, which is great because there’s never a dull moment in this industry,” Makayla explained.

“There’s always someone to serve, or something to be prepared or cleaned; it makes for an exciting and dynamic workplace.”

Makayla said her initial CQUni Certificate III in Beauty Services (2015) helped her land the traineeship, which she fondly refers to as her “dream job".

“I’m keen to advance in the beauty world and I’m looking forward to being able to perform all beauty treatments – full-body massages, facials and PolyGel nails – in the salon when I’m finished my studies,” she said.

“I love when a client jumps up off the beauty bed, smiling ear to ear with their treatment outcomes; nothing beats making someone’s day – and I get to do that every single day!

“With every treatment, I help reflect someone’s inner beauty and happiness externally – there’s nothing I’d rather be doing, and no place else I’d rather be working – I’m so grateful to Zoe for this amazing opportunity.”
