CQUniversity to host change of preference information sessions

Published:15 December 2017

Year 12 results will be released tomorrow and for some, the results may not be as hoped or expected.

CQUniversity will therefore host a change of preference online chat session tomorrow (Saturday 16 Dec) from 8am-12noon followed by drop-in information sessions at Queensland locations on Monday including Townsville, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Gladstone, Mackay and Rockhampton, with Perth and Adelaide taking place on Tuesday.

The events are being held to assist prospective students with any queries they may have around their OP/ATAR results, or who may just be looking for some clarity before deciding on their final preferences.

CQUniversity Marketing Assistant Hannah Carr said her team would be ready to answer any question thrown at them regarding their respective TAC/TISC and ATAR/OP results.

“Be sure to have your TAC/TISC login details handy when you come but otherwise, just pop in and have a chat to us,” Ms Carr said.

Ms Carr said some of the frequently asked questions that the team would be ready to answer include ‘what should I do if my result means I didn’t make the cut off listed for my course preference?’, ‘I got a better result than expected, should I change my preference and study something with a higher cut-off?’, ‘when will I know if I’ve been accepted to study with CQUniversity?’, and ‘is there someone that I can speak to about my study options?’.

“We understand prospective students will have a lot of questions to ask when the receive their results so we hope this event will provide an opportunity for us to help,” Ms Carr said.

Students can register for any of the face-to-face change of preference information sessions by going www.cqu.edu.au. Anyone who is unable to attend a session in person can still participate in an online session that will run from 9am-1pm (AEST) on Monday (Dec 18).
