CQUniversity has maintained its position in the top 2 per cent of the world's universities, according to the latest Times Higher Education rankings.

The prestigious rankings put CQUni the 'Top 600' of the best 1000 universities in the world. There are more than 26 000 universities worldwide.

CQUniversity was recently ranked at 90th in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings say that CQUniversity, now ranked in the 501-600 band, has been on a phenomenal trajectory since 2009.

"Its remarkable growth in student numbers, new courses, new campuses, infrastructure and reputation has seen CQUniversity emerging as one of Australia’s truly great universities," they say.

"CQUniversity has now firmly established itself as the largest university based in regional Australia, the only comprehensive university in Queensland, a renowned research institution in key industries, and the benchmark leader for how universities should engage with their communities.

"Its record of achievement over the past five years is matched only by the ambitious aspirations it has set itself over the coming five years, with a continued expansion of student impact, research accomplishment and community engagement firmly in its sights."

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is the only global university performance table to judge research-intensive universities across all of their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

These rankings were founded in 2004 and provide a definitive list of the world's best universities, evaluated across teaching, research, international outlook, reputation and more.
