CQUniversity student bands including Brit pop act Banana Velvet and R&B act Master Keys are primed for concerts in Rockhampton and Gladstone later this month.

And former Gladstone residents Monique Pearce and Wes Samuels will be heavily involved in both events.

Monique and Wes both came through the Gladstone State High music programs before setting their sights on careers involving music teaching by day and public gigs by night.

They are three-quarters of the way through the Bachelor of Music degree based at Rockhampton Campus, where they will be part of a Big Night In concert from 7.30pm on Friday, September 27. Details and bookings are via 4940 7800, with tickets also available at the door.

Monique and Wes will also be returning to their home town of Gladstone to perform in a special concert celebrating the 35th Anniversary of CQUniversity programs in the harbour city. This FREE concert will be held from 7.30pm on Saturday, September 28, at the Leo Zussino Building on Gladstone Campus. No bookings are required.
