Overview
Kick off your journey in sports coaching with this entry-level qualification. Gain theoretical and hands-on experience, equipping you with essential coaching skills to conduct and support coaching sessions in community sports programs with confidence.
This qualification develops the foundation skills required for individuals interested in delivering pre-planned coaching sessions to foundation-level participants across a range of sports. It provides a pathway for individuals to take on assistant coaching roles, either as volunteers or employees, within community-based sports clubs and organizations in the Australian sports sector. Those who hold this qualification utilise a limited range of fundamental coaching skills to engage participants in a particular sport, primarily performing routine and repetitive tasks with basic practical skills and foundational knowledge of the sports industry. They work under the guidance of a supervising coach.
The skills developed through this qualification must be applied in compliance with relevant Commonwealth, State, or Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.
At the time of publication, no occupational licensing, certification, or specific legislative requirements are associated with this qualification.
