Wherever you're at, we'll support you as you develop the skills and confidence to start and succeed at university. Explore below the options available, with some designed specifically for school leavers, international students or vocational training.

Alternative Entry Pathway 

If you don’t meet the required entry score for your course of interest, starting another CQU degree may help you meet your preferred course’s entry score. After completing a year of full-time study, you will be eligible for a Selection Rank that can be used in any new application you make. You may even be eligible to apply for credit if the units you complete are part of your preferred course.

Whether you're finishing high school, have had a gap year, or are returning to study after some time away, these options can help you prepare for university study.

Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS)

Gain the skills and confidence to excel at university with our enabling course STEPS. Enjoy dedicated support as you prepare for higher education studies.

Pathways for High School Students

If you're in high school, you can get a head start on your studies by studying a TAFE course or university unit while still in school. Our Principal's Recommendation Scheme provides a pathway directly into university from high school without relying so heavily on your ATAR.

Start Uni Now (SUN)

Study university while in school with SUN, our specialised high school program. Get a taste for university life and a head start on your dream career.

Start TAFE Now (STN)

Start your vocational education training while still in school with our Start TAFE Now program and gain credit for your high school certificate.

Principal's Recommendation Scheme (PRS)

Pathways for International Students

Gain the skills to meet entry requirements, or build your confidence before study with our range of English language courses. We also offer a Graduate Certificate in Research to prepare you to undertake a Higher Degree by Research.
