Overview
If you are seeking an extension to your mechanical trade qualification and have experience in this field then this qualification is for you. Upon successful completion of this course you will have the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of tasks related to servicing and repairing air conditioning components and systems of cars and heavy vehicles within an automotive service and repair business. You will also develop your employability skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, initiative and enterprise, planning and organising, self-management and hands on skills relevant to the automotive air industry. Your studies within this course will be assessment focused.

This course has no residential schools.
Requirements
Students are required to have completed the literacy and numeracy assessment pre-enrolment in the form of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment or to have completed an equal or higher level course.
A Refrigerant and Air Conditioning (RAC) Trainee License must be applied for to undertake this course. ARTICK will require proof of your enrolment to apply, please refer to arctic.org for further information.Â
To be eligible for entry to this course, you must have completed either the current version or the most recent superseded version of one of the below Automotive Heavy or Light Trade Qualifications as per training.gov.au.Â

Fee for Service/ Full Fee
Fee for Service/Full Fee occurs when the full tuition fee is charged to students. This may occur when the course is not included in government subsidy program/s or the student is not eligible for a government subsidy. These students are obligated to cover the entire cost. Co-Contribution and Co-Contribution Concessional Fee
Some government subsidies, such as Certificate 3 Guarantee, will require the individual to contribute to the cost of their training through a co-contribution fee. Government subsidies are subject to eligibility.
The fee will vary based on the course chosen and the eligibility of the student for a concession rate. The co-contribution fee represents the total cost to the student for tuition. There are other costs that the student may have to pay, including but not limited to uniforms and course resources. This will vary depending on the training.
