Fascinated with all things mechanical? The Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation is the first piece of the puzzle for you while at high school. Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation is a Start TAFE Now (STN) in schools course.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a limited range of tasks relating to identifying and inspecting mechanical and electrical components and systems of light vehicles, heavy vehicles, outdoor power equipment, bicycles, marine craft and motorcycles. This qualification also covers the skills and knowledge required to perform minor maintenance and repair of an automotive vehicle body. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication (Release 1 12 November 2020).

This course has no residential schools.
Requirements
Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.
AUR20720 STN Class for year 11 & 12 students only.
There are no other entry requirements.
It is highly recommended that students have attained a Sound Achievement (SA) result in year 10 numeracy and literacy subjects or equivalent prior to enrolling in this course.

Visit usi.gov.au to create a USI or find an existing one.
Step 2: Prepare your eligibility documentation
So that we can assess your application and eligibility for Government funding options, you’ll need to upload documentation as part of your application. This includes proof of your:
- Queensland Residency and Date of Birth. (e.g. Queensland Driver’s License photo must be of the back and front of the license)
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency (e.g. Medicare Card or Birth Certificate)
