The Doctor of Education (EdD) is a doctoral course of supervised research and research tasks designed for professional practitioners/educators, comprising structured research tasks; proposal development, and a thesis component.
 

The Doctor of Education is a course of supervised research and study that may be undertaken in a range of possible fields. Your research will lead to the submission of a thesis, which makes a significant original contribution to knowledge. This contribution can be in the form of new knowledge, or of significant and original adaptation, application and interpretation of existing knowledge. COURSE STRUCTURE
The course will normally be undertaken by candidates over 4 years for full-time study or up to 8 years for part-time study.

Candidates will complete a series of four research preparation tasks including one coursework unit, prior to submitting their Confirmation of Candidature portfolio, and then moving on to their program of research and dissertation writing.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course will normally be undertaken by candidates through full-time study over 4 years or part-time study over 8 years.

Candidates will complete four research-oriented tasks in consultation with their supervisor prior to submitting their research proposal. Candidates are also required to defend their research proposal to a Doctor of Education panel prior to progressing to the thesis component.

The Doctor of Education is a program of research and study, undertaken independently and with guidance from two academic supervisors.

A person may be considered for admission to candidature for the degree of Doctor of Education if the person:

· has not less than five years of professional experience in education;

· has fulfilled such other requirements as the Committee may determine from time to time; and

· has qualified for the degree of Master of Education (Research), a coursework Masters degree; or

· has been awarded the Bachelor of Learning Management with a minimum of Honours IIA at CQUniversity; or

· has such other qualifications and experience as are considered by the Committee to be equivalent to or an adequate substitute for any of the qualifications listed above.
