The CQUniCares Term 2 Support Scholarship assists students from regional and remote Australia, low socio-economic status (SES) backgrounds, and/or Indigenous persons with expenses associated with undergraduate study. Those expenses can assist with living expenses and non-deferrable costs such as textbooks, uniforms, technology, internet, course-specific equipment and/or travel costs associated with compulsory residential schools and unpaid work placements.
To be eligible to receive the CQUniCares Student Support Scholarship successful applicants must:
- Be identified as living in regional and remote Australia, low socio-economic status (SES) backgrounds, and/or Indigenous persons for the duration of enrolment with CQUniversity.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate course of study in Term 2, 2025:
- Bachelor
- Associate Degree
- Advanced Diploma (Higher Education)
- Diploma (Higher Education)*
- Be studying a minimum term study load of 6 credit points or more at Census date of Term 2, 2025.
- Be an Australian, New Zealand Citizen or holder of an Australian Permanent Visa**
- Not currently in receipt of a CQUniversity Scholarship/Sponsorship or a Scholarship/Sponsorship where payments are administered by CQUniversity.

** Must have a permanent home address in Australia
Applicants are required to provide a 500-word personal statement addressing the following question:
How would a CQUniCares Term 2 Support Scholarship assist with your studies?
As per the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP) Funding requirements, the funds provided as part of this program are directed exclusively towards students studying an undergraduate course from regional and remote Australia (as defined by ABS), low socio-economic status (SES) backgrounds (as defined by ABS), and/or Indigenous persons.
As a scholarship recipient, you will be asked to participate in a feedback survey. You may also be approached to assist with positively promoting the CQUniversity Scholarships program by sharing your experiences as a recipient through media or invited to attend events such as Orientation or Open Day.

Payment of scholarship
Successful applicants are required to enter their current financial institution details (banking details) into their MyCQU (refer to instructions) for payment to occur.
The value of the CQUniCares Term 2 Support Scholarship will be paid in 2 instalments:
- $500 paid by week 2 of term, following week 1 eligibility checks
- $1,000 paid by week 6 of term, following post Census date eligibility checks
Payments will be credited electronically to the successful applicant's nominated bank account. Requests for an early payment will not be considered.
All requests for further information to support applications will be sent to the CQUniversity student email account. Failure to supply further information will deem the application incomplete and will not be considered.

Complete a HEPPP-Funded Scholarship Online Application Form, ensuring all supporting documentation is completed and attached as outlined here:
- For Current students (applicants who already have a Student ID number) apply through MyCQU.
- For Future students (applicants who have applied or are intending to apply to study at CQUniversity but have not yet received or accepted an offer) apply now.

Complete applications must be received by 10am AEST on the closing date.
Apply for a scholarship is easy. You are only required to submit one scholarship application for the desired funding pool and your eligibility will be assess against all available scholarships within that funding pool.
The Student Scholarships team are unable to provide updates to students on the progress of their individual application until all assessments are completed.
As there are a limited number of scholarships available, all scholarships may be exhausted prior to the advertised closing date.
