The CQUniversity Be Scholarship for Research provides financial assistance to a new or continuing candidate with a disability to pursue a research higher degree qualification.
To apply for the CQUniversity Be Scholarship for Research, applicants must:
- be enrolled or have received a letter of offer to enrol in an eligible CQUniversity research higher degree course, within one month of being offered the Scholarship
- be a domestic candidate (international students are not eligible to apply)
- provide confirmation from their treating health professional that the applicant has a permanent or long-term disability, medical or mental health condition.
Eligible applicants must not be receiving any other scholarship income from another source, if that income is specifically related to the course of study and being used to support the student’s general living costs, and if that income is greater than 75 per cent of the stipend value.
To maintain ongoing eligibility, the successful applicant must:
- maintain active enrolment in the course of study
- maintain satisfactory progress in the course of study.
The CQUniversity Be Scholarship for Research is a Commonwealth-funded postgraduate research scholarship, and therefore these guidelines must be read in accordance with the RTP and RHD Scholarships Policy and Procedure.
Scholarship applications will be assessed based on the merit criteria described in the RTP and RHD Scholarships Policy and Procedure.
Please note that health/personal information will be used only to determine eligibility, not merit ranking.
Your privacy is important to us. Information provided in the scholarship application process will be kept confidential. Only individuals directly involved in assessing or administering the award will have access to your application. If awarded a scholarship, your consent will be required to use your name in connection with the award. Your name will not be shared publicly without this consent. Additionally, successful applicants will be asked for consent to be registered with the CQUniversity Accessibility and Equity Service for ongoing support during their studies.
Please apply using the template scholarship application form, which will also include the following:
- a Treating Health Professional Report to be completed by a registered treating health professional and in accordance with the directions provided on the template, and
- a statement of 300-500 words describing your passion for research, career and/or life goals and how the scholarship will assist you in achieving your aspirations
