Research
We are seeking highly motivated and talented PhD candidates to join our research team working in a research project at Central Queensland University (CQU) funded by QLD State Government. Our research focuses on the forefront of ML-empowered network optimization, quantum communication, and cybersecurity, aiming to push the boundaries of current technologies and develop effective methods to support secure real-time group communications targeted for application in sport venues of large-size games including the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
1) Academic Background: A strong academic record in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a related field;
2) Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience in publications and software development, preferably in network optimization, quantum communication, or cybersecurity;
3) Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++, and performance evaluation using network simulators. Knowledge of quantum mechanics and network protocols is a plus;
4) Communication: Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Research Areas:
1) Network Optimization: Develop advanced ML-empowered algorithms and protocols for optimizing network performance, reliability, and efficiency.
2) Quantum Communication: Explore the development and deployment of new software-defined network control for quantum networks, including quantum optical communication methods and satellite-based quantum networks.
3) Cybersecurity: Investigate post-quantum cryptographic systems and quantum-enhanced network security to ensure robust protection against emerging threats.
1) A detailed CV;
2) Transcripts of academic records;
3) A statement of purpose outlining your research interests and how they align with our projects not exceeding 2 pages;
4) A detailed research proposal not exceeding 6 pages;
5) Contact information for two academic references
