Thermal behaviour of stabilised clays with waste additives
School of Engineering and Technology
Dr. Mehdi Mirzababaei
Synopsis
This project investigates the mechanical behaviour of stabilised clays with waste materials as well as polymer-stabilised clays subject to thermal stresses. The volume change, the mechanical strength of the compacted clay is analysed through a new temperature-controlled facility at the Melbourne campus. The experimental analysis will be modelled using a Finite Element package to verify the results. This project is part of an industry project and the outcomes will be implemented in a full-scale project in the field.
