Synopsis

This project investigates film festivals' role in developing and nurturing local culture. Initially focusing on Queensland to develop nationally, this project offers an opportunity for a student interested in screen studies, film festivals, cultural tourism, and/or regional arts. This project would suit a researcher interested in primarily qualitative research methods, focusing on case studies. This project would likely require travel to regional Australian locations. This project is affiliated with ongoing work in this area by Dr Liz Ellison and Dr Tess Van Hemert (QUT). A student working on this project would also be aligned with the Creative Arts Research Training Academy (CARTA).
