About the Research Project

Our national network is working to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have equitable, culturally safe, and responsive access to the benefits of genomic medicine.

Impact

We aim to:

  • build national capacity and leadership in Indigenous genomics
  • establish Indigenous reference genome(s) that will serve as the foundations of genomic medicine
  • develop best-practice approaches to data systems, data sovereignty, and policy
  • co-develop an Indigenous Genomics Research Agenda

These efforts will support long-term advancements in Indigenous genomic health and research.
