No Dramas: Participatory action research using applied theatre in regional Queensland to enable youth-led communication on health and justice priorities.

Description

This state-based study aimed to elevate and improve the messaging around prevalent issues facing young people today, creating content by young people for young people, through a participatory action research (PAR) approach that challenged traditional law and health messaging to further enhance community education strategies through development of TikTok videos on issues including police street checks, vaping, cyber-bullying, directed and informed by the youth participant co-researchers.

Impact Statement

The study produced 10 shortform videos which have move than 10,000 views and a proejct documentary. 68 young people include 4 actors and a videographer were co-researchers in the project.
