Synopsis
This project will study the last 400 years of climate in Queensland. The project involves field work identifying pine stands, collecting tree cores, measuring ring widths and developing tree-ring chronologies and climate reconstructions, and will develop skills in dendrochronology and climate analysis. The project will require access to dendrochronology laboratory equipment, which may require some time on the Townsville campus. Ideally, applicants should have some experience with field work, laboratory work and some statistics.
