Sustainable Utilization of Fly Ash in Asphalt Road ConstructionThesis Abstract
Australia generates millions of tons of fly ash waste yearly, which is highly concerning for the environment and human health. The objective of this research is to reduce the environmental impact and promote economic growth through the sustainable utilization of fly ash in construction projects. The research project entails obtaining materials and doing extensive testing in compliance with QLD and Australian standard guidelines. Asphalt and aggregate tests will be performed at CQU Pavement Lab.Â
Why My Research is Important/Impacts
The research will tackle a crucial environmental issue, aiming to transform fly ash waste into a valuable resource for sustainable construction. By incorporating detailed testing and innovative methods, it not only addresses environmental challenges but also contributes to eco-friendly road construction. The use of waste fly ash as a filler material will help to save the economy. This research project is closely aligned with the broader goal of a more sustainable future. Furthermore, it will help to enhance the mechanical properties of pavement by reducing the waste percentage in Australia.Â
