CQUniversity is celebrating a significant milestone with the release of the 40th edition of Be magazine, marking almost two decades of sharing the people, research and ideas making a difference across Australia and beyond.

Since launching in 2008, Be has evolved into the University's flagship magazine, showcasing the achievements of its students, alumni, researchers, staff and industry partners through stories that educate, inspire and spark conversation.

The 40th edition continues that tradition, featuring stories exploring the science behind true crime fascination, Queensland's prehistoric giants, the benefits of digital detoxing, the future of education, groundbreaking research and the remarkable achievements of the CQUniversity community.

Editor-in-Chief Priscilla Roberts said reaching the 40th edition was an opportunity to celebrate the publication's journey while looking ahead to the stories still to be told.

“Be has always been about more than telling university stories. It's about exploring the people, ideas and discoveries that shape our communities and demonstrate the impact of CQUniversity,” Ms Roberts said.

“For almost two decades, Be has captured the spirit of CQUniversity through authentic storytelling, bringing readers expert insight into the issues affecting our communities, industries and the world around us.

“Reaching our 40th edition is a wonderful milestone that reflects the passion and creativity of everyone who has contributed to the magazine over the years, and we're excited to continue telling stories that inform, inspire and connect our readers."

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Nick Klomp said Be had become an important platform for showcasing the University's impact.

"Be has chronicled CQUniversity's remarkable journey over almost two decades, celebrating our achievements while highlighting the innovation, research and partnerships that continue to transform communities," Professor Klomp said.

"The stories in every edition demonstrate the extraordinary people who make our University what it is and reinforce our commitment to creating positive change through education, research and engagement."

The 40th edition also reflects on the publication's own story, celebrating the people who have shaped Be since its first issue in 2008 and the enduring role it plays in connecting readers with the University's vision and impact.

Readers can also explore a special centrespread featuring every Be cover since the magazine's launch in 2008.

Printed copies of Be Issue 40 are available from CQUniversity campuses across Australia, with the digital edition available at cqu.edu.au/be.
