CQUniversity has continued its upward trajectory on the global stage, climbing an additional 63 places in the latest QS World University Rankings.

The University is now ranked 436th in the world, comfortably maintaining its place among the world’s top 500 universities and improving significantly from its previous ranking of 499.

The latest result is CQUniversity’s highest ever in the internationally recognised and highly trusted QS World University Rankings, reflecting the University’s continued growth in reputation, research performance, international engagement and student outcomes.

CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor and President Nick Klomp said the results further cemented CQUniversity as Australia’s most accessible and supportive universities.

“This demonstrates the remarkable progress CQUniversity continues to make on the global stage,” Professor Klomp said.

“To climb another 63 places is an outstanding achievement and reflects the dedication of our staff, the success of our students and the growing international recognition of the work we do,” he said.

“Importantly, this ranking reinforces that regional universities can compete with the very best in the world while remaining deeply connected to their communities and focused on delivering accessible, high-quality education.

“We have worked hard to build a university that prioritises student success, industry engagement, impactful research and strong partnerships – and it is pleasing to see those efforts recognised internationally.”

Professor Klomp said while rankings were only one measure of success, they provided an important benchmark and helped strengthen CQUniversity’s reputation both in Australia and abroad.

He said the result would further support the University’s ability to attract students, researchers and industry collaborators from around the world.

“We remain focused on creating opportunities, transforming lives and delivering tangible outcomes for the communities we serve,” Professor Klomp said.

CQUniversity has experienced significant growth in recent years across research, student participation, graduate outcomes and global engagement, with the latest QS result adding to a growing list of national and international recognitions.

CQUniversity ranks 25th (out of 37) in Australia.

QS bases its internationally recognised ranking system on universities’ research outputs, international staff and student ratios, and global reputation among academics and employers.
