CQUniversity hosts annual Mackay graduation ceremony
More than 150 graduates crossed the stage today, as CQUniversity held its annual graduation ceremony in Mackay.
Graduates represented a diverse field from Vocational Education and Training (VET) to Higher Education and postgraduates in fields including Paramedic Science, Nursing, Law, Education and Accounting to name only a few.
Seven Indigenous graduates received their testamurs and two people were presented with PhDs.
Mackay campus Associate Vice-President Professor Rob Brown said the ceremony marked a significant milestone not only for the graduates but for CQUniversity in Mackay.
“Each graduate that crossed the stage today has a unique story of perseverance, commitment and ambition,” Prof Brown said.
“Many have balanced study with work, family and other responsibilities - and this achievement is a testament to their resilience.”
Prof Brown said the graduates would now enter the workforce with the skills and knowledge to make a real difference in communities across the Mackay region and beyond.
“We are incredibly proud to be contributing to the region’s future through education,” he said.
“Today’s ceremony highlights the diversity of our student cohort, from vocational learners through to postgraduate researchers. That breadth is something we are particularly proud of at CQUniversity, as it reflects our commitment to accessible education pathways.”
