Eleven Indigenous graduates received their testamurs and two people were presented with PhDs.

Townsville campus Associate Vice-President Kate Harvey said the ceremony marked a significant milestone not only for the graduates but for CQUniversity in Townsville.

“Seeing more than 160 students cross the stage at our largest-ever ceremony is a powerful reflection of the growth of our region and the determination of our students,” Ms Harvey said.

“Each graduate that crossed the stage today has a unique story of perseverance, commitment and ambition. Many have balanced study with work, family and other responsibilities - and this achievement is a testament to their resilience.”

Ms Harvey said the graduates would now enter the workforce with the skills and knowledge to make a real difference in communities across North Queensland and beyond.

“We are incredibly proud to be contributing to the region’s future through education. “Today’s ceremony highlights the diversity of our student cohort, from vocational learners through to postgraduate researchers. That breadth is something we are particularly proud of at CQUniversity, as it reflects our commitment to accessible education pathways,” she said.

“As our graduates step into the next chapter of their careers, we know they will carry forward the values, knowledge and confidence they’ve gained at CQUniversity. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in the years ahead.”
