Hats off to Bravus Mining and Resources graduates
CQUniversity has today officially welcomed two of its newest graduates.
Aidan Castle and Rex Gruspe celebrated their achievements at CQU’s Townsville campus today after completing the inaugural Future Leaders Program - Bravus Mining and Resources’ talent development pathway, delivered in partnership with CQUniversity.
Bravus Mining and Resources Chief Operating Officer Mick Crowe said the duo had spent 18 months completing onsite training and online study and are now full-time Environmental Officers at the Carmichael mine near Clermont.
“We created the Future Leaders Program in 2024 to give local university graduates the best possible start to their career in the mining industry,” Mr Crowe said.
“Our environmental team is fundamental to how we mine safely and responsibly at Carmichael as they deliver the world-class programs that ensure we continue to comply with our approval conditions.
“We couldn’t ask for two better young leaders than Aidan and Rex to join that high-performing team.
“It’s been a delight to watch the pair of them grow over the past 18 months into capable Environmental Officers who care deeply about their work, and they’re just as good as people as they are at their job.”
Aidan and Rex completed two non-award MBA (Leadership) units and a micro-credential short course through CQUniversity’s Be Different online platform.
CQUniversity Vice-President Academic, Professor Michelle Bellingan congratulated Aidan and Rex on their achievements.
“It is no small feat to be working fulltime while also completing University units and I congratulate both Aidan and Rex on their successful completion of this program,” Prof Bellingan said.
“As a regional University, this collaboration with Bravus is one we are very proud of,” she said.
“CQUniversity looks forward to working with Bravus’ future leaders into the future.”
