The future of elite sport is getting global attention, as CQUniversity academics collaborate with the Leaders Performance Institute, Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA), the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES), and Management Futures, to explore the state of the sector.

The Future Trends in High Performance Sport report, led by UK-based Leaders Performance Institute, is the first of its kind, cross-sport industry report, set to unearth the biggest topics, challenges and focuses of high-performance sport.

CQUniversity Director of Sport Strategy Professor Fabio Serpiello said the groundbreaking work will help sporting organisations future-proof their high-performance development and take action to stay ahead of the performance curve.

“We are delighted our academic leaders can bring their sport research and innovation expertise to the Leaders Performance Institute and the other partners.  Outcomes of the report will certainly shape global decisions in high performance sport for years to come,” Prof Serpiello said.

Findings from the research will be shared with industry and sporting audiences through co-created articles, podcasts and a continuing professional development accredited learning series, to support better performance outcomes.

Professionals or athletes working in a high-performance focused role for an elite team, league, federation, governing body or academic institution are invited to complete the Future Trends in High Performance Sport survey

The survey takes no longer than 30 minutes to complete and will close on Friday 20 September 2024.

Prof Serpiello is one of the report contributors who will provide expert analysis of the survey findings, alongside performance leaders representing Cricket Australia, the Premier League, the Seattle Mariners, the Texas Rangers Baseball Club and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
